I always hear the guys talk about the great beers they find at bottle shops in their part of Western PA, and I have been jealous as I've lived in Eastern, PA for 5 years and I've only seen beer sold by the case. I was starting to think the guys were either crazy or that things were different in their part of the state, when at last found a bottle shop in Bethlehem, PA about 15 minutes from my house. As luck would have it, they actually carried two of the Lost Abbey offerings, Judgment Day and the Red Barn Ale, which I quickly purchased. They also has some Founder's brews which I purchased as well.
Last night I tried the Lost Abbey Judgment Day. Wow. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, but it had a very complex taste. It soon grew on me. What a great beer. I must rush back and purchase the remaining bottles. Tonight I tried the Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale. It tasted like a Belgian Tripel to me and although not as complex as Judgment Day, a great beer. I also picked up a bottle of the Bear Republic Racer 5, which I believe was considered "Man Candy". Although a good beer, to me it was just a hop bomb.
Congratulations on finding
Congratulations on finding the mythical PA bottle shop. And it sounds like a good one from the beers you picked up.
Congratulations
