The Great Beer Podcast Switch

I think Big Foamy Head and the Good Beer Show would be excellent candidates for a switch as discussed on CBR 116. Sure, it could turn into a parody, but you could also make it a great show. These shows are different enough from CBR to make it interesting: they both play music, one is on-location at a bar with several participants, and they have catch phrases like "Clink and Drink!" Then there's a feature such as Beer Haiku.

Beer School is another option, but it's like one big pre- an postshow.

Just thought I would make the suggestion.

Yeah, it's interesting. I

Yeah, it's interesting. I think it's a cool idea, but we haven't really approached any other Podcasters about it yet. Maybe Jeff is doing just that in Cincinnati right now.

On one hand, there's a desire to cross-show with a show that's similar to ours, so our listeners who aren't into it don't neccesarily get upset when they find CBR #1XX isn't anything close to the CBR they are used to, and vice versa for the other podcast.

On the other hand, what's the fun in that? Some really good moments might come from us just trying to do a completely different show altogether.

Make a VIDEO for something completely different

Hey Greg,

I think you guys should trade with James Spencer (basicbrewing.com).

Talk to James and see how he makes his videos and what type of editing he does. Talk about a challenge !

Do a good food paring and talk about Jeff's homebrew .. and maybe an update on Yeast or hops.

Goof around and include an "outtakes" video.

Dump the astro-physics .. I'd like to see Greg and Jeff brewing up a 1/2 gal. mini batch and lickin' ribs and comparing bbq sauces that go well with homebrew.

I'd also look forward to James Spencer and one of his friends doing a pre show and post show along with their main show. Give them some complicated sours, farmhouse or saison beers and let them compare and rate them ... and include some beer news. Maybe sell THEIR dvd's on the traded show.

Always looking forward to your new material. ...

Cheers! Prost! Salud! Gambay!

The more I think about this,

The more I think about this, the more I think we could swap with a non-beer podcast. We just need to find some astro-physicists who are pseudo experts on beer like how we are pseudo experterts in astro-physics.

Bad Astronomy

Phil Plait at Bad Astronomy would make a good switch. He's based in Boulder, which is only a short drive from Denver. Looking ahead, next time you are at the GABF you will have a friend!

You wouldn't be out of your depth talking about debunking nonsense on a video clip and Phil appears to be a good sport.
