Barons beer = contract brew

Barons ESB (and all the other beers sold under that label) is actually brewed by the "brave boys" of Australian Independent Brewers, a contract brewery. I guess this leaves the brave marketers of Barons more time and money to spend undercutting genuine brewers on price, snapping up taps, and throwing swag at bar owners.

Thanks for the info Count.

Thanks for the info Count. It's a tasty beer even if they have predatory business practices.

Witbier

Guys,

Listened to the show - enjoyed it, as usual.

However, since you now do a double take on pronounciation whenever "witbier" is mentioned and you've been beating yourselves up over your apparent "mistake" since the third episode, I hope you don't mind if I chime in, so that you can wrap this up once and for all. I've lived in the Netherlands for a while and am dating a Dutch girl, so I hope you take this as the final version (Dutch and Flemish are the same language):

"Witbier" is indeed pronounced "Vitt-beer", as you got right first time round Greg! Any other pronounciation ("whitt-beer", "witt-beer" etc. ) is incorrect.

You have friends in Europe!

Good show

I have a friend who lived in Australia for 18 months in the mid 1990s and he said when he was there it was just one nasty macro after another. I am glad it appears to have changed for the better. Also, there were two Moa beers reviewed in this month's Beer Advocate and both got really good reviews.
