What can you say about Texas? Don't mess with it! We certainly hope it doesn't secede from the Union, because then we'd have to pay import taxes on some very good beers.

Glad you liked the beers

I'm glad you enjoyed the beers and I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on some of the beers that are made here in Texas.

Southern Star has only been around for a little over a year and makes some really nice beers other than the two you guys tried. They are available all around Texas as well as select out of state markets. I know Chicago gets them and I believe a few other locations do as well so there is hope for Pennsylvania. Saint Arnold and Real Ale are only available in Texas.

Also, the stout that Southern Star makes won't be available in cans until late 2009 early 2010 from what I have heard recently. I believe they are also planning on canning a saison (never thought I would see a canned saison), and while I am not sure of a release date, I think it may be before the end of the year.
